The new fragrance Gabrielle Chanel
After 15 years, Chanel launches a new fragrance called “Gabrielle Chanel”. I had the honor to attend the launch party of the fragrance last week in paris. It was amazing, and for those, who didn’t follow live on Instagram, there even was a surprise performance by Pharell and Katy Perry. In 2017 Chanel announced that this year will be the “year of Gabrielle”, better known as Coco.
They want to honor and celebrate the brand’s iconic founder and what could be more of an honor, than a new fragrance named after her. The fragrance will be fronted by actress Kristen Stewart, who also showed up at the big party last week and the Haute couture show. Gabrielle was developed by house perfumer Olivier Polge, who I luckily got to know last year, during the launch of L’eau in Grasse.
The notes feature ylang ylang, jasmine, orange blossom and tuberose. It smells divine, it reminds me a bit of Coco Mademoiselle, a perfume I love from Chanel’s range. But it’s less sweet, more floral, so actually a perfect new scent. I was excited, when they revealed the bottle, which, at first sight, looks like a classic Chanel No 5 bottle, but you will notice, that Garbrielle is much cleaner than No5. Chanel Gabrielle will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum from september 2017 on. I am sure, it will be the best christmas present you can make for every female or yourself. 😉
