My LA diary

We started our first day with perfect weather and an amazing breakfast at Hotel Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood. Then we headed to our first appointment at the Piaget Boutique on Rodeo Drive. We selected some of their beautiful pieces of jewellery for the Independent Spirit Awards.
Our afternoon we spent shopping on Rodeo Drive and having lunch at the design awarded “South Bevery Grill”. This is a modern and quite famous restaurant with an either American or Sushi menu, which is definitely worth a visit. After lunch we did a typical sightseeing tour visiting the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood sign. In the evening we dressed up and visited the Piaget Cocktail Event which took place in a private and impressive Villa in the Hollywood Hills. Delicious live cooking and cocktails were another highlight of the evening. Star factor: Piaget Ambassador Jessica Chastain is attending the event! Thanks to our Jet Lag I woke up at 4 am on our 2 nd day. Luckily the Hotel offers a 24 h room service and served us a super early breakfast with Egg Benedict and Latte Macchiato. At 8 am my hair and make up artist arrived. After a long styling session we took off to Santa Monica. There, the Independent Spirit Awards took place in a white tent at the beach. After a small marathon on the red, or rather blue carpet, the award ceremony started. Hollywood stars like Sean Penn, Jessica Biel and Cate Blanchett love the Independent Spirit Awards because of their easy and casual atmosphere. The big winner of the night was the cast of the movie “Spotlight”. At the Piaget After Show Party, I met also some German friends like Frauke Ludowig, Patricia Riekel and Sandra Bauknecht and many more. We ended this amazing day at Venice Beach. With its typical hippie shacks, skaters and musicians the atmosphere is typically Californian and in my opinion just magical. On our 3 rd day we had breakfast at the legendary „Alfred“ at Melrose Place and went for shopping on Melrose Avenue. The stores are as cool as expected. You can shop the most casual and easy designs by all famous brands, but what I loved most was the farmer market with beautiful flowers and lots of food. 😉 Oh and of course we took some snapshots in front of the legendary pink Instagram Wall. We’re so sad to leave LA already but we’ll certainly come back soon with more time!
